HGC Music Award
The 2023 Music Award
A panel of judges from the Club, along with Music Director Sarah Robinson Seeber, presided over auditions last March and selected violinist Eleanor Markey from a talented pool of high school senior musicians. At the HGC “Spring Romance” concert in April, Miss Markey gave a stunning rendition of Bach’s Chaconne for violin and received her $5000 award, above. We wish her every success as she continues her studies at conservatory this fall, and in what is certain to be a brilliant career!
2024 Music Award Applications
Each candidate should:
1. Fill in the On-Line Application Form found below.
2. Obtain a letter of recommendation from their school Director of Music/Chorus/Band or private instructor
3. Prepare an audition performance of not more than fifteen minutes containing two contrasting pieces
4. Forward the online application and recommendations to: Charles S. Eisenberg highlandgleeclub@gmail.com
An application fee (submit below) of $25 should accompany your application. If this is a financial burden to you, please contact Charles Eisenberg directly at ceisenberg4@gmail.com.
Deadline for receipt of the application and letter of recommendation is March 22, 2024. In-person auditions will be scheduled Saturday morning, April 6th, in Newton, and the winner will perform at our concert April 27th, 8 PM in Newton.
