The Highland Glee Club is a men’s chamber chorus based in Newton, Massachusetts. One of the oldest choral ensembles in the country, the Club was founded by a group of singing gentlemen in Newton Highlands in 1908. The Highland Glee Club is a men’s chamber chorus based in Newton, Massachusetts. One of the oldest choral ensembles in the country, the Club was founded by a group of singing gentlemen in Newton Highlands in 1908. Today, the men of the Highland Glee Club preserve and honor the traditions of the past while also embracing newer genres of music. Under the baton of Sarah Robinson Seeber, the Highland Glee Club performs an eclectic mix of repertoire, from classical part-songs to Gregorian chant, operetta, jazz standards, sea chanties, and psychedelic rock. Each year the Highland Glee Club holds a competition for graduating high school seniors who have shown exceptional accomplishment in vocal or instrumental performance and who plan to continue the study of music in college or conservatory. Our winner for 2024 is Keila Wakao, violin. This brilliant young artist will perform with the Highland Glee Club at our annual holiday concert, Saturday, December 7th, 2024. Congratulations, Keila!
