Each year the Highland Glee Club holds a competition for its Music Scholarship. Winners in recent years have included incredibly talented vocalists and instrumentalists from the Metrowest area. This competition is open to all male and female graduating secondary school students, who have shown evidence of exceptional interest and ability in music(vocal or instrumental) and who plan to continue the study of music in college or music school.
The scholarship carries an award of $2,500. In addition, the winner will perform at the Highland Glee Club’s annual Spring Concert, usually held on the last Sunday in April.
The 2017 scholarship application deadline is March 10, 2017. Auditions to be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
Thank you to all who applied for this year’s scholarship. We are pleased to announce the winners of our 2017 scholarship. We are making an unprecedented two awards this year. Haig Hovsepian, violin, of Belmont High School, and Amir Siraj, piano, of Brookline High School will both perform. We are also making an educational encouragement grant of $500 to Carly Rayburg, soprano, of Foxborough, who will study neurological music therapy. Congratulations all!
