SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT WILL ALSO PERFORM
The Highland Glee Club (HGC) will present its annual spring concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at the War Memorial Auditorium, Newton City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton.
The HGC will open its 110th season performing music from a variety of time periods and styles including selections by Josquin Des Prez, Orlando di Lasso, and Cole Porter, as well as arrangements by Mark Hayes and John Rutter.
In addition to a performance by the Highland Glee Club, the concert will feature the HGC’s 2018 scholarship award winner, recipient yet to be determined, who will also present a set of songs.
The HGC is directed by David Tiedman, music director of Pilgrim Church (UCC) in Sherborn, Mass., and is accompanied by Maxim Lubarsky, a jazz pianist with classical training.
Tickets for the show are available at the door or can be purchased in advance from HGC members. Groups (10 or more tickets) will find a discount at our website. General admission tickets are $20 each, with veterans and active military personnel receiving a $5 discount. Half-price tickets are offered with a college ID, and members of the Greater Boston Choral Consortium’s member organizations. Children/youth under 19 are admitted free of charge.

About the Highland Glee Club
Now in its 109 th season, the Highland Glee Club (HGC) is an all-male chorus with more than 25 members from the greater Boston area. Open rehearsals for the fall season will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 11, at the First Baptist Church, 858 Great Plain Avenue, at Warren Street in Needham. Men who sing, are invited.
The HGC has been long been committed to serving the community. Each year, since 1939, the group holds a competition for its music scholarship, which currently carries an award of $2,500. We hope to expand this program with your help.
