presents....

Sing into Spring!
A Festival of Men's Choral Music

The 30 male voices of the Highland Glee Club, celebrating its 102nd Season, presents its Annual Spring Concert on two dates in different locations; 3:00 PM, Sun. April 25 at the First Baptist Church, 858 Great Plain Ave., Needham, MA (Free parking in church lot or on street); and 3:00 PM Sun. May 9, at the War Memorial Auditorium, 1000 Commonwealth Ave., Newton, MA (Free parking there also).  Both locations are handicapped accessible.  Both concerts will be directed by David Tiedman and accompanied by Maxim Lubarsky.

The program will include: two songs honoring J. S. Bach on his 325 Birthday this year; three opera choruses; jazz guitar numbers performed by Oliver Monaco, Guest Soloist and this year's Scholarship Winner; three English Madrigals; three American Folksongs; and concluding with Music of George Gershwin. A reception of beverages and light deserts follows the concerts.  Admission is $l5. Proceeds from the concert will fund the Highland Glee Club's annual Scholarship Program which awards $1,500 each spring to a high school musician who intends to become a music major in college next fall.  Singers in the group represent the Boston Metro communities of Boston, Bridgewater, Chatham, Chestnut Hill, Dover, Framingham, Hopkinton, Medfield, Millis, Natick, Needham, Newton, Quincy, Sherborn, Waltham, Wellesley, Weston, Westwood, and Weymouth.
